How do you know whether your weakness is physical or technical? Prowess has teamed up with Isi Booker Physio to provide a series of workshops that combine technical movement coaching with climbing-specific phsyiotherapy. And it’s all presented together in one simple, handy session.

These are two-hour workshops to bring you the best advice possible; crucially, advice that compliments itself nicely.

We have two workshops running over the next few months:

  • Hip Strength, Mobility and Movement, where we look at hip mobility and incorporating more hip movement into your climbing
  • Mastering Heel Hooking, taking an in depth look at heel hooking effectively

One workshop is called Mastering Heel Hooking and focuses on safe and effective heel hooking

What’s Included?

Each workshop is two hours. The focus of each of these hours is split, with one hour covering building strength, effective conditioning and injury prevention while the other hour covers efficient climbing movement that increases our efficiency of movement, leading to higher grades, better enjoyment of movement and also injury prevention.

Think of this as a workshop in two halves.

For the half focusing on the physical, Isi will take the lead, with Pete taking a more supportive role. Then when the focus changes to technical skills, Pete will step in with Isi available to provide support and further advice.

Mastering Heel Hooking

  • Warm Up-Techniques. Discover the most effective warm-up routines to prepare your body for climbing success
  • Strength and Conditioning. Learn essential strength-building exercises to improve your climbing performance
  • Injury Prevention. Protect yourself from common heel-hook injuries with Isi’s expert advice
  • Heel Hook Mastery. Get hands-on coaching to refine your heel hook technique

Hip Strength, Mobility and Movement

  • Warm Up and Conditioning. Essential exercises and routines to get your hips ready for climbing sessions
  • Hip Strength and Flexibility. Exercises designed to build hip strength and improve mobility for easier high steps, drop knees and more efficient movement on the wall
  • Injury Prevention Tips. How to reduce the risk of common climbing injuries by maintaining flexible, strong hips
  • Coached Movement Techniques. Real-time coaching on how to apply hip mobility for better drop knees and more efficient climbing movements

Both of us will be there throughout so if you have any specific questions or thoughts, feel free to pull one of us aside and give us the third degree. We will both be available for questions at the end of the workshop.
